| Are you sticking to your family strains you have had, or have you brought some new stock in to try. |

| I've had some really nice stock birds from oldstrain, and I'll be racing ybs off these, but I will be looking at bringing in some kirkpatricks , if I can find someone who still breeds this strain, I did well with them years ago, but it seems they have fallen out of favour , great distance birds back in the day. |

theres a fancier near me who was selling the kirkpatricks lofty, he had some in the bhw, I think he had some yellow ones.....or some unusual colour anyway. |

| Lofty, there is a guy in Swansea selling 2016 young birds, pure Kirkpatricks, Scottish and English National winning bloodlines. Alan Joseph 01792 201584, its in the BHW this week page 82. All grizzles he says, hope this helps you. |

| Strains? Some times a misnomer. Doubt if any are pure any more. When I re-started quite a few years back I went for the red Jannsens from a friend of mine. Some Super 73 van Loon blood was added, some Aarden. Houben, Ganus lines last year two pair. Red Jannssen and van Loon predominate. Others did not hack it. Try the Ganus this year see if they are as good. Doubt if any of the strains mentioned are themselves 'pure'. Whatever does the best for me stays, others are disposed of. Cross them all the time. Years back Des Mathys did very well for me but no longer seek out name strains. Good ones come in all 'strains'. |

| I'm with hal on this one its just a mans name so I will be racing alfies aviators ...we never really know whats in the birds pedigree its all taken on trust through generations most top lofts add new introductions from other top lofts but they don't tell you so they can keep the household name ...I like to cross them for racing anyway |

Lofty you can give Louella a ring as they had they were the main source for Kirkpatricks and brought all the main stack pigeons when John Kirkpatrick sold up all the best mate |
