| Has anyone heard of, or belong to The South West of England Combine.
I don't mean WEST OF ENGLAND SOUTH ROAD COMBINE.
I am talking about a group of clubs that fly East to West across England.
Darren and I have been discussing this matter for a little while but we can't find any more details.
Can anyone help.

| Thanks David
I have followed your link, spoke to a guy that has something to do with a club in Peasedown, near Bath.
But it turns out that they are members of the West of England South road combine.
It looks like there is no club/s that fly East to West - unless someone knows different.

| it may be called west of England south road combine and not south west ...either way their is only 1 organisation not 2 and they fly east to west or se to west to be precise but when they talk of the route they always say east to west it covers a large area so some members may not actually fly dead on east to west more se to west ...hope this brings some clarity atb |

| Darren, If you follow this link:- http://woesrc.com/race_program.shtmlThat will give you their race program - see what you think. This is The West of England South Road Combine! The club we used to belong to and the New one we want to join, both are members of this combine. Phil |

| I like the old bird programme saintes 400 Bergerac 500 and a few 300 mile races so not a bad programme ...the yb programme is poor though maybe not so bad for gloucs flyers getting an extra 3o miles on races ...bedhampton can be a bad lib point a lot of bad races from their it seems even with the old birds ...yes that's the organisation I have been talking about phil atb |

| Great - I am glad we got that sorted.
As I said, we have asked to join Drybrook FC who fly the WESRC races, so we shall see.
I really wanted to fly the north road as well, but if things are as bad as you say, maybe we will be better sting to the West of England south road.
It would be great if we both fly with the same Fed and the same races.
Having said that, we may only be able to fly the young bird program, if we can't get our other birds settled. I have NO idea how to get older birds settled to a new loft.

| I have broken OB's on many occasions. Could not take the loft so took the set of nest boxes. Never a real problem. However, never from country to country!! |

| the north road has a real pull for me I love it and could well be my last season in it with the old birds and ybs will go south ...that's the plan anyway...you could still join the north phil its not to bad until they get into Scotland ...also the last few yb races were disappointing and can see the old club folding soon or maybe just maybe a few will listen and save whats left but I wont hold my breathe they will still want to send 10 birds to lerwick and less than 50 to thurso its madness complete madness they would be better having more middle distance races from 300 to 400 miles and birdage would be much better |

| Way of most clubs. Even with ets clocking many do not want to send to the longer races. Here they cut out the 600 years ago and one of the 500 milers. Sprint mid distance the majority. We have a headwind course 95% of the time. I am going to propose a race from the West. The Canadian Barcelona used to be a 600 miler for me. However, my idea is to fly them from West, 1500 km or so. Fly them out there. Wonder if any one will bite? One club many years ago flew from the South. From Texas. Hardy bros won it. Irish transplants. Good people. |
