| I’m massively overloaded with hens this year, I’ve got 11 hens and 3 cocks. I’ve got a few latebreds but Ive got to sit down and have a think how I’m going to race them this year. I raced roundabout last year and did quite well until a disastrous Berwick were everyone suffered heavy losses with lots of birds reported in Scandinavia for some reason. |

I’ve got a few latebreds but Ive got to sit down and have a think how I’m going to race them this year. I raced roundabout last year and did quite well until a disastrous Berwick were everyone suffered heavy losses with lots of birds reported in Scandinavia for some reason. Booney pair the hens to the 3 cocks the best way to do it I think BUT I KNOW NOTHING is to place the 3 cocks in a section with 12 boxes the let 3 hens to the cocks let them sit eggs for 7 days then remove the 3 hens and close the 3 boxes up and remove the bowls Then allow the next 3 hens to pair to the 3 cocks in different boxes then let them sit for 7 days remove the hen close the boxes And the same till all the hens have been paired to the cocks but in there own boxes then remove the cocks and allow the hens into the box section just like you would the widow cocks train them and keep them tight with there feed but on a friday place the bowls in the boxes leave them for 5 to 10 mins then allow the 3 cocks in the hens will go mad But as soon as the hens know the cocks are there basket them straight away send to the club Another form of jealousy but with hens |
