Snowing again. Drove to the dump with garbage. Few tense moments as the Ford 150 pickup did some dancing. Have weight in the back but need extra. Unfortunately I cannot lift my wife that high. Another month of this crap weather any way. Forecast. Take the dogs around the barns in most weather. Not often recently. Wind chill -30 plus. Supposed to get up to zero tomorrow. So will work outside. Need the landing board enclosed for the yearlings. Have a speed trap there they are not used to. Teach them now instead of later. All live traps baited again. Expecting the Spring surge.

No down time last 20 odd years. Live in the house the barns are located on. Walking distance. Sometimes a long walk! However, animals have to be fed on time etc, so one has to make it happen. I have to put up with cold and snow. Knackered has to put up with heat and humidity. Raising pigeons in either scenario can be challenging. I assume on extreme weather days we both wish we could change places!

Just got to cope...its the weather where you chose to live..weathers the same pigeons or no pigeons..all livestock needs attending whatever your weather.

We hardly ever seem to get snow here in Essex, even when the rest of the country is covered.

weve seemed to have avoided a lot of the snow here in leeds, over the last few years.....other areas have come to a stand still, but weve not been that bad really, best not speak too soon tho` eh. yes, pigeons need feeding 365 days a year, if you have them, you got to make sure they are fed, whatever the weather. |

Finished the aviary hour ago. 1 hour job took me 4. Had to come in to unfreeze every 20 mins. -12 wind chill -30. Hands and face freeze in no time. Have to wear light gloves to hold nails. But all done now. Have a smoke or two, get the coughing going, circulates the blood.
