They cannot go out in the aviary much. Snow with freezing rain put an ice sheet on top of the landing board. Hopefully tomorrow and next day. They need to be out looking around, observing the wild birds and pigeons. Hawk visits regularly. Have some rabbits living under the loft. Other day heard a squeal and went out to check. Long strip of rabbit fur on the snow on the front of the loft but no blood. He missed!
It is all relative. Rabbits thrive under there means no weasels. Hawk flying around sharpens the birds instincts for when they take their first fly. Probably 6 weeks or so. Thinking here is to eliminate the hawk. Then another will move in. Perhaps better the enemy the pigeon knows than the one they do not.
