The N.E.H.U race from Melton Mowbray 21/4/2012 was won by Peel bros of South Shields, they took 1st club 1st fed, also taking 2nd and 4th club and 15 of the 25 birds clocked in the club......well done Peel brothers.

What a majestic looking bird, I know it is a pity they have such undesirable feeding habits, I would be reluctant to do anything unless it posed a direct threat.
Maybe make a friend for life.

I have had many chances to shoot it. Reluctant to do so. Reasons? I kill it another may move in. As long as I keep the bird feeder full it can eat sparrows and not pigeons. It sits on the aviary often. Keeps the pigeons sharp. They do not go out any more now anyway. Yes, it is a good looking bird. It is safe here. Has killed the odd pigeon in the past but few and far between. Live and let live.
