We dug the foundations on a Saturday for the Kingdom Hall.

On the Sunday the building of the hall started. Shops opposite set up chairs and a cuppa for spectators. The working men's club was alive with the topic of the building progress.
All was completed by 7 O'clock that evening for the congregation meeting. Water, electric, plastering, carpeting etc. all finish... Yes like most it was built in a day. Many concerns ventured - like Tesco's, if they could build their new supermarkets! Big stores would be up and shopping within in 3 weeks.

Of course it wasn't feasible as ALL the work is / was carried out by members for free via the members.
3 site agents on site at all times to check all  was prim and proper and properly done.
Now that did some sorting out before hand  … very well organised.
Well done Daz Smile Smile Pleased for you type of thing etc Wink Wink. Seen on the news here to-night Smile Smile you dug up a wee bit of our Australia history there at some train station it appears. Bloke by the name of Mathew Flinders, who helped plot this little island of mine in the early days. Dead at 40 Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes sadly apparently, so in some ways talent lost maybe in what he may have achieved if fortunate to have lived longer type of thing I suggest. cheers

I think the Witnesses are the only true Christian faith on earth.

There is no deviating from what the Bible says to facilitate certain deviations of society, the modern so called Christians subscribe to.

Just ponder one the thought, even were the Witnesses wrong (and I feel and believe in what they preach 100%) what a wonderful world it would be, if society as a whole followed their beliefs.

Regards.

DO WE NEED RELIGION?
What view of religion do many people have?
'You can be happy without religion'. This example of worldly thinking appeals to many people because they view religion as dull and irrelevant. Also, many religions turn people away from God by teaching hellfire, collecting tithes, or preaching politics. No wonder an increasing number of people feel that they can be happy without religion! Such individuals may say, 'I am interested in spiritual matters, but I do not get involved in organized religion'.

Many say 'I believe in the Boss, but not the managers' lol

In every part of the world, including the remotest forests etc; the inhabitants have some kind of religion.

In most cases it is necessary to have a reasonable kind of existence involving something on which to base law and order.

So in most instances the whole constitution is based on some belief or another.

So it is instilled in man that there is something greater than him ( although the MPs in our country would possibly disagree) the fact is that many have been looking in the wrong place.

If one is content to not believe in anything other than chance the odds they are right are beyond
calculation relative to the facts.

One must beleive in ones self. In the background of the mind there is always a God. Of some description. Idol or effigy or whatever. However, in time of need or stress that figure is called upon. To solve or help the problem at the time. No one shows up. If in a religion that is close knit and of like mind many will come to help. If you are a cannibal many like minded will help finish the job. Basically all animals/fish etc, are cannabils. Modern day society works usually on the same basic principle. Eat or be eaten. The old quote is the best. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." But again, it is a personal choice. People screw people and always assume God will forgive them if they confess their sins. But surely God already knows? So any one can do anything and get away with it. Forgiveness. Never met any one who came back from Heaven or Hell. In the biblical sense. Have met many been to Hell fighting wars etc,. Heaven types not so much. Do not know transgenders.
Each person has to set his her guidlines as how to live on this earth and follow them as much as possible. Deviations will occur and should. It is always a learning experience and nothhing is set in stone. Be your own person!

Hal, there are conditions attached to forgiveness.

We are able to hear what one says, and read what one writes, what we cannot do is read what is in ones mind, God, can, and that is the difference, we can con each other but not God.

Reads the heart too.

Most don't realise - most wouldn't agree, especially first off - that the biggest brain is in the stomach.  It decides when and when to send drugs, food etc. etc. This enables the Brain to do it's chores.
The brain with us older ones , gives and send 16,000 messages / instructions a second.
A new born baby's brain operated between 1 million and two million. Recollection, learning.
Much is also learnt in the womb. Dialect and warmth, dependence. Recognition of Family.  Sounds, the scales of music and very much more.
That the heart has a brain.
the brain has no empathy, conscious of feeling whatso ever. Indeed they can operate on the brain with no  pain killing agents of to be put under etc. It does NOT feel a thing. It recognises and stares things. The brain is for reasoning and decisions, and regulating some what.
But to the heart belongs passion, compassion, love, feelings, sadness etc. etc.
It influences the brain. ALL of us, and pretty regularly have conflict between the heart and brain.

Speed of the brain.
Say you hit you finger accidently with a hammer. Instance - sorry it's not, but is very fast. The brain activate remedies. You drop the thing causing distress - the hammer - and suck your thumb. That induces extra blood to the part hit etc.
How quick do you react if you catch a bare toe on a table leg. You remove the toe from area of danger, hop, probably sit down and rub the toe... bringing the blood to do it's job. Bring out the bruise etc. first off etc. How fast? You don't even think about it, the brain kicks into action and takes control... later other help may arrive if decidedly so.
Now the brain probabably goes through a vast chain of events and points of relay. The messgae is relayed like train going through certain sations to arrive at the selected area. Billions! There are Billions throughout the body all doibng certain functions. the brain - at great speed decides and sends via the quickest route!

On that thought, blood goes arounbd the body at same speed as a bullet. 780 miles or more a second. It travels in reality around the world every 22 hors.. A day!

Knowledge when discerned AND the insight understood, is then extended into wisdom.

A wise man learns from others mistakes … A fool by his own.
By the time a man is wise enough to watch his step, he is too old to go anywhere ...

It is only when you see a mosquito landing on your testicles that you realize that there is always ---------- another way to solve problems without using violence'
