| Can anyone recommend a good lice treatment. I’ve been using harkamectin for a few seasons and haven’t found it very good at all, it seems to keep them at bay but it always leaves a few stragglers. I’ve found it dosnt work very well on grizzles. |

| Garlic in the water every day, no lice. no illness, but then why not take notice of the experts and waste an awful lot of money.
Not sure of spelling but ivamectin drops are widely used on animals for lice problems but some say have side effects.
Would never bother about a few lice, other than when showing, keeps them on their toes.
Regards. |

| Well, why do / did the fanciers start wearing smocks. Because of droppings and LICE. They clean the feather, especially low down and thus allows strong growth and sustains, and makes it easier from the oil to be imparted where it does most good. When the pigeon takes the bottom near their backside they are taking oil in the beak and treat the feathers with it. That is to put it on the feather that the lice has prepared and is of great use. I'm not sure now, but until recently at most, there was no 'Remedy' to lice. They left them! Why, because they play a very important part in feathering. A great and natural way to boot and cost free. Had a couple whinge at me... told them to get stuffed. There are numerous ways of shifting them. So treat when back from the race ALONGSIDE countless other waste of time, cost consuming rubbish.
One spot ... kills inside and out! Why do that!? There are very much of a good thing happening inside the bird. Much needed to boot! Oh I know, let's get a very strong anti bacteria cure down their throats for instance ... kill the good and any bad in one go ... golly no wonder they birds immune system and constitution is racked to pieces.
However back to the original post- after I've needlessly wander a far lol. Never really treated. Feel it is more a human aspect than a need. |

| To be honest, only once in 30 odd years (25 years ago) did I get a few too many or some one thought. That was the occasion someone moaned. Maybe tice are self regulating!? After all there is only so much around and on a feather to eat! Times before most had a white coat lol... |
