| I can’t remember where I saw it, I think it was in the BHW. Instead of breaking the ice every morning, take the drinkers out at night, and fill them up first thing in the morning when you give them their breakfast. So simple but I’ve never thought of it, I’ve always gone down the loft with a kettle in the morning and broke the ice. |

| To put a little light on the matter hal, is there any danger of the pigeons being fried should the water become in contact with the current.
Regards. |

| No Misty. Light bulb blows first. Biscuit tin lid keeps the birds out. Gets real cold top 3/4 of drinker freezes. Bottom inch or so still water. 40 watt early winter, 60 later. Bulbs. |

| Have no idea how you deal with your temperatures, Hal, here we seem to fall apart with an inch of snow and a couple of degree below freezing.
Maybe over the years it hardens your pigeons to adapt to the temperatures.
Regards.

| Pigeons adapt to whatever situation they are in. As do people. Aussies do and their birds. European birds do very well here also. Survive and thrive. |
