| does everyone draw the water for their birds the day before...or just use it straight from the tap into the drinkers... i was told to draw it the day before...but i know some1 who does theres two days in advance. |

| hi birdlady, cant say ive heard of the benefits of either, but mine get the water thats a day or two old until the cans are empty, interesting thought though |

| have heard of this before people lettle water stand for 24 hrs i my self just give fresh water every day

| hi birdlady ive heard of this before, i think it depends on the type of water in the area is why they do it..........personally i have never bothered and just give clean water freas every day from the tap. |

| just add a few drops of bleach in the drinker they will be fine |

| ive been letting my water stand for 24 hrs for years now it lets all the clorine ivaperate one thing for sure ive never had young bird sickness i have a big water container i take down the birds it last me all week so really my birds never have water straight from the tap and there in great nick , birdlady try it what have you got to lose . |

| hard water gives you lime scale david just look inside your kettle the harder the water the more chemical they put in thats why i let it stand

| i let the tap run for about 10 mins then in the drinker unless treating then the water is left to stand over night |

| i fill a water butt up and it lasts me the week as their is alot of limescale in the water here when the butt gets to the last third i empty and rinse out the same water is given to the dogs aswell from the butt |

| We collect rainwater in water butts, we've done this for years and the birds have never showed any ill effects. |
