Cold water (even having to break the ice) or warm water, in the loft or outside, what's best??

I prefer warm water colin, I think the birds can relax more with the warm on their bodies / muscles etc.

also add salt and vinegar

Either way I suggest Barnie or what suits you as best as such Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Pigeons don't really care I suspect, but at the end of the day I believe it's important to give them the option of a bath etc at times. That being said bounce bounce I'm affraid I just couldn't afford to give my birds here a hot bath Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad the price I pay for the power to produce it type of thing Wink Wink. cheers

Yes david, I always used warmish, but not hot, water and the birds seemed to stay in longer, but I recently saw allotment kept pigeons enjoying cold bath around freezing temps but they didn't hang around soaking in it very long. Laughing Lots of bloom on the top though.

Never seen a wild bird asking for warm water, seen my pigeons bathing in the waterfall when part of the pond was frozen over.

In my opinion it could do more harm than good, not natural.

Regards.

I agree with Misty, I’ve never put any warm water in the bath. My birds seem to love it whatever the weather.
