| Sorry for the newbie question. I'm writing a screenplay on Homer's and trying to clarify some things.
Can pigeons be re-homed at all? Someone told me they can't be, after they have an established home.
And if someone were to buy a champion homer, is there any benefit to keeping it? Doesn't it already have an established home? Could it still be used for breeding in SOMEONE ELSE'S loft, or would it just try to fly back home?
Thanks, any and all answers vastly appreciated. |

| hi park 3662, welcome to the forum.........
yes a pigeon can be re settled to a new home.
a "champion homer" would still be able to be re settled, obviously age might play a part, but it can be done if the new owner is prepared to keep going to collect it from its old home, and also make the new home as attractive as possible ie a male / female partner. |

| Park, many pigeons can be re homed, sometimes if you move house for instance you may have to move your whole team and break them in to your new address. Giving them an aviary would help to let them see their new surroundings, lett them have a round of eggs if their old enough. With older proven racers, you can clip their primary flights and by the next season when they grow back they will be well settled. |
