8th Club Sleaford

We raced from Sleaford 105 miles, I only sent 4, I kept the yearlings back because of the east wind and frosty start.
Had all four within 14 minutes and was 8th club.
Happy with that.
Very good returns in our club despite the cold weather, but many keeping their yearlings back until the comeback race next week and the warmer weather on the way.

good to see no yearlings went Steve. If I went before May - can't remember when but years ago, I only ever sent one or two old stagers.
Best thing I ever learnt was to forget about old bird and combine averages ... Too many good birds lost or ruined. From the start for obvious reasons and season ends send in hope and a wing and prayer. Yes I won the Scottish averages / distance often enough.
