Ybs are you ready ?

Our first race come Saturday and I must admit would have liked a bit more training to be honest but they have to go . Had a hard chuck Tuesday so that sorted them out but weather is spoiling everything

good luck ray, your 2 weeks behind some clubs then eh .......is that normal or due to bad weather .

missed first race and 2nd cancelled due to weather so in they go weather permitting

3rd race for us this week...weather looks awful the weekend so may be another Monday race

my club basket today for a sunday race .........

up at 7.45 first bird 9.05am, power cut 8.30am - 9.30, heard the bang from my house probably squirrel across the bars, missed the first 12 birds

we are going tomorrow ,sent 10 to Ilkeston 120 miles ,some not going as losing their cover flights ...our first 3 ybs last week are left at home in the loft ,2 laid tonight and last night so not going until next week now and 1 cock is moulting heavy,nice young cock who scored last week but again losing the cover feathers of the flights ,stiff headwind tomorrow with rain en-route maybe, so everything that went is expected to make it ...if in doubt leave out

our birds will be at ilkeston tomorrow too darren ......good luck to everyone racing tomorrow

really ,I take it you mean your clubs birds not rpra birds ,lets hope they get a decent race we went at 7.30 ene 120 miles for me

yes our club birds darren, liberated at 8.30 in a light south east wind .......

we got 6/10 so far ...our first bird is a full brother to our one loft ybs we had 2 come together then another 2 dropped a few minutes later ...blanket cloud now not seen first 2 ybs from last week funny game this yb racing

Think oldstrain that it would be very lucky to have consistent pigeons under the present circumstances, too many imponderables that can affect any batch, could be the leaders affected or any other, under the present circumstances I would be pleased just to have them return.

yes, of course we have no idea, or remedy of 2 minutes ahead in regards many things.

We send - mainly on a whim and prayer and with hope.

So we endeavour to do our best to prepare . Mainly healthy and conditioned.

3rd and 4th club and pools 8/10 for returns ,only 2 away were 2nd and 4th club last week different type of race this week though ...all potential cocks will be stopped this week all 5 of them that will give us 12 widow cocks to dabble with next year and the hens will go on provided they stay in good feather ,we have about 8 hens to play with for rest of yb season

well done darren and Alfie, up there again in the results, and took the money too ........

Just proves oldstrain, a few good uns in the right hands, no doubt the other two will turn up.


Hope Alfie is investing all the pool money well.

Hens are more genuine than cock birds, I think most would agree. They are also naturally and apt to more jealously guard the territory.
