| I believe, as said, one could buy 12 pairs and have a good foundation of a loft. A. there are here, because the owners PAID money and sent of their best. They have a proven homing ability, and would not be related - thus breed vigorous youngster etc. What a starter pack for say a couple of hundred quiddies eh! |

| I have seen … As most of you may well have, pigeons bought from so-called names at very high prices. Birds which for generations have never seen a pigeon basket, let alone been in one unless when housed while cleaning out.
I have seen unscrupulous so-called pigeon 'names' or great flyers selling birds that they bought in solely to breed and sell from them. Birds that were and are cast-offs. At least in such One loft races sales, this takes care of that scenario,
Know a very well known name that asked a friend for any spare birds. This was not long before the Blackpool show. So he let him have old birds and ones that were no longer going to have a place in his loft or future. Was he surprised when, after the Blackpool show fanciers were phoning and saying that they had just tried to transfer birds from this 'Well Know Name' but came back as belonging to you? He made the excuse that that 'Fancier' hadn't transferred the rings after they had to share the parents for breeding. They were pleased because this other fancier was an excellent national flyer. They are no longer friends.
Knew / Know another well known set up that had Belgium rings to put on his 'For Sale rubbish.
For two hundred quid - a lot less than a single pigeon from many, one could have a decent start.
Goes back to knowing and having a good and genuine repour with a fancier and his word, I guess. |

| yes darren they made £261 combined, so our share of it should be around £130 which will pay for a 5th entry .......im for it if everyone else is, after all if it was shared out we would have approx £10 each maybe ?
i prefer a 5th entry, but depends on what other members think . |

| Had look through past posts etc; to catch up.
Always willing to go with the majority.
However, would not have been against Alfie having a Christmas present from the proceeds, with regard to a fifth entry, with all the effort put in by his partner.
Regards.
