Banded two from a white hen yesterday. The whites are very protective. She tried to beat my hand away. Anyway had to put two more bands on today. She had managed to pull them off the young. I have a confession to make. I screwed up with her band 2 years ago. Was checking her band number. The toe that gets bent upwards to get the band on was still up there! After 2 years! I could not cut the band off, no room. So I brought her into the house. Using a spiral 2 inch nail got it inbetween toe and leg. Pried it clear. Toe is shot of course but it is down. Today she was her old self. Hate admitting the mistake! But we live and learn. Some of us anyway!

Seen that once in my time here Hal on basket night etc & the bloke was a expert type pigeon man (nice man) & sold mega tonnes of grain to most of the local pigeon men here in his time. Now same man nice man, I first met when he was a teenager type all keen as mustard etc & when I first went bush here & at times later on he had pigeon sales at his grain store for the cause as such, which I attended once or twice Now, so happens 2 blokes put their hand up at the same time, one pulled his down as quick as a flash & then went home for the day hours later he got a phone call from this same nice man, saying your pigeon is here you bought which had me rather confused some what as the other bloke said it's mine type of thing so don't waste your time bidding on it any further to me . End of the story I got duded in some ways I'm but I finished up with a first class lovely, Planet Brothers type of pigeon some how which cost me around the 250 dollar mark for what I remember.
