| Tamer birds are the best as the birds are a lot carmer and better in the loft |

| If your birds are tame then the loft is carm bit if you have one a bit wild then this can upset the whole loft |

| The best fancier to use a whistle is Frank Tasker
He uses it when racing the young birds and he gets top results |

| To get the young birds us't to the whistle always use it when feeding and everytime you feed them us the whistle and the young birds will hear hte whistle and waste no time getting in the loft to get feed |

| i think if we have a bird that is tame, we tend to think they are happy anyway......i think pigeons like peace and quiet and to feel safe in the loft, and also different pigeons have different temperaments. |

| ive tried using a whistle but couldnt stick to it....found it easier to shake the tin. ive seen some fanciers who have got it just right tho with the whistle and its amazing to see how they trap... |

| But sometimes you get one pigeon which causes the loft to be upset due to it being wild
That is were you remove the problem |

| i think thats where giving them a lot of time and sitting with them watching their personalities comes in....i always sit and watch mine when feeding and you get to know what they are like, and also they get to know me and sit on me and peck the bottoms of my trousers |

| building up a bond and trust....if they loose that trust in the fancier it could mean the difference between trapping well or not on race days... |

| i always do don, everyone must have their "loft shoes" i know but i always have a blue hooded top and similar trousers and if i go with different types of clothes i know they are a little bit on edge.....i suppose thats why some wear a loft coat over their ordinary cloths so the birds dont see anything any different. |

| with me only having 6 birds to a section i clean out every day and to be honest there isnt a lot to scrape out......i use a wallpaper scraper as i find this easy to use and then i have a small brush and dust pan which i then empty into the wheely bin....so cleaning only takes me a bout 5 mins per section, thats including changing fresh water.... |
