Solar panels

Anyone use solar at the lofts / allotment?...just curious as we do , we use for alarms , tv , radio , led lighting, ets system ect ...not good at present though with it being so dull but we just get enough power for alarm system. Anyone else as I might need some advice now and again lol

Ray think Chris Vasey uses solar as well

He does don yes but I meant someone on here, but thanks ....missed those jugs at Blackpool in the gallion bar haha...next year hopefully

Could maybe     plug into some of our solar farms down here etc Ray as they take up the size of England here, nearly . In fact, about to start building one here apparently, that will supply Singapore with power by a cable under the sea type of thing.

Well solar is the future apparently and why not .we couldn't do without it

Battle between wind & solar Ray I suggest & we have plenty of both down here fortunately when our coal finely dies a painful type death etc .

dont know anything aboutit really ray, i know you have to have a battery to store the power, so how about a bigger battery or extra solar panels ...?

Yes and me Ray really enjoy out catch up at Blackpool

I looked at this solar set up but ended up running a weatherproof caravan cable off the house for the time being. It's not cheap by the time you get all the solar stuff bought, unless you fall lucky for second hand kit...........

Huge type subsidizes down here Barnie by the government to install sola panels on ones house etc. Looked into it like you & decided I wasn't that green just quite yet because of the on running maintenance costs & the general wear & tear factor with them    .

ray, maybe the reason why no one could offer any help, is they dont know anything about it .......

Ray if you click the link on my previous post there's some info there for you, at least it explains a bit about how to work out the power you need depending on what you want to run. From this you can work out what panels and batteries are needed, not having solar power myself it was the best I could do.

Thought you would have been sorted by now with all the knowledge available.

When I have a problem all I do is ask Google., does not matter what the problem is he knows the answers.

I have just put, Solar Panels For Pigeon Lofts and got enough information to go into action were I interested.

You just have to pick the information that suits your situation.

The best way of course is to plug into neighbours  supply.

Ray someone I know lives in a big caravan and he just told me on phone he got all the solar gear from a right off campervan that had the stuff fitted by somewhere in Ashington called Solar Shack and he got some other bits from them. They have a website.

ray, do you use the solar for your ETS ?

Yes sort of , we charge battery via panels then use the 12 volt battery for ets so yes I suppose I do ...I might be able to connect it via the regulator but not sure about that yet

we used to have an alarm on our lofts years ago, after we got broke into .......was a pain in the ar*e always had to recharge the car battery it was running off, wasnt solar panels around in the 1980`s, not that i know of anyway

Our alarms now run off off solar system..then everything does

my alarm nowadays has 4 legs .......
