| ive used most poisons available in the past, blocks, pastes etc .........took hundreds of them to get rid of them, at one point i thought i was feeding all the rats in the leeds 9 area ........and they always come back, its a never ending war.
i think next time i get anything im going with the home potions, antifreeze, bi-carb, sugar sweeterners, flour etc etc .....have read alsorts of wierd and wonderful potions which cost a fraction of the shop poisons, and by all accounts it kills them quicker . |

| if you're putting it down loose they will not be eating it all but taking some to store Misty. I found that ,thinking because it was disappearing then they must be whalloping it down, I eventually bought 3 of the plastic black bait boxes, lockable so birds or pets cant get to the bait. The bait is skewered inside so they have to eat it on the job, maybe you do bait this way? Anyway I used a mix of the pasta and the red waxy blocks and wore disposable nitrile gloves as they don't like human smell on the bait boxes, 3 weeks and on top of things, now I keep them baited all the time 24/7 and check every weekend. Only signs of mice nibbling for the past 2 weeks or so. Problem is bird feeders overfeeding and seed falling to ground, rats always lurking nearby. |

| Think you are right barnie about them storing.
Have three of the plastic traps that have ties bait in, says do not attempt to take bait out as it is poisoness.
Too small in my opinion for rats never had one in yet and have lost the keys to open them.
Had them ages and never had anything in them.
Even worse, had to go singing in the pub to pay for them.
Have decided to get a load of the Pasta, will ask if you can buy it in larger numbers and package and also use treated cake with anti freeze, do not like the latter but got to do something.
Maybe I will ask the Council what they do, must have something strong and fast.
We visit Forge Valley bird feeding station regulary and it was getting over run with rats and spoiling matters, someone must have reported it because within a couple of weeks they had all gone.
Hole filled in and not a rat in site.
When you think about it, it is an ongoing problem when you kill some others come along.
Will keep you informed. |
