| grand job, pigeons will benefit, first thing you'll notice is snow white wattles and brighter eyes. Just need a bit warmer sunshine now, whenever that might be..... |

| Massive difference in them yes , just wish I could finish the lot but time was against us ... hopefully better results with new trap as well . Get them in quicker as sick of losing races due to bad traps |

| just a though, but how I'd do things is build a platform on legs, 4 posts set in the ground, like a tall table standing infront of the letting board big enough for each section to hit at once, get them trained to do so. But if it works as it is fair enough, good luck get to know today when racing starts maybe? |

| Would not be my cup of tea.
Always thought inside of loft should be the same as outside less snow or rain, etc; (protected from).
Had a corridor just the same as that one (still there) but both ends were open and actual loft front was 1/2" galvanised mesh, from top to bottom, loft air same as outside at all times.
Had a trapping area to one side that was always open other than race days about the same size as the one in the picture, never trained and usualy only maybe two birds arrived together from races and would trap even if I was next to it.
Have the inside of the loft warm, feed seed and you can have show condition pigeons, full of bloom in a few days.
Nature says that pigeons have to naturally contend with all types all weather conditions pamper them and you have the unhealthy set that most fanciers have today.

| Yes I agree with most of that and yes pigeons are as soft as sh**e now but I have seen a massive difference in condition of my birds since corridor and roof lights put in . Time will obviously tell . I wouldn't have a mesh front sorry. Seen one before and the birds looked sick as ,, miserable... but each to their own as they say . We'll see how we do |

| Sky lights very important said Gary.... best fancier ever. In Peterborough, a fancier converted a green house into his loft. Flew a great pigeon too. personally, at day's end, I believe that pigeon adapt and like the system. Loft etc. If not, they A. fly off the top. Don't become proper contente, and hence don't hurry tp home etc.
So soon, after the 2-3 seaons one has pigeons that like the loft and system only. Now how good etc. they are ... |

| If sky lights make the loft inside like out side then it is exactly the same as the system I used with regard to how it should be but just an alternative, you need a constant exchange of air.
You get allsorts of stories some like Jack Annory, resuts dictate matters and I never had a season when I did not win my share at both racing and showimg.
I adopted mine from a fancier I visited ( Mr Killingbeck) with a view to getting a decent cock bird.
It was around 45 years ago, he pointed out some pigeons I could pick from, I did not like any.
Two took my eye but he said they are not for sale , so I left empty handed but with the idea his pigeons were in excellent fettle and he won his share, and that is when I changed my loft.
If it works for you ?????.

| Well we win with our birds but I am hoping this will make them better, no standing still here try to improve every single year , albeit new stock , loft alterations, different corn ect ect . We will try anything to get better and get more wins. That's why that trap has been changed as losing to many races with old system. Took a while to change that but sorted now |

| Just hope we get racing and you get all the wins your great efforts deserve.
Never realy put any effort in myself, just gave them a happy home, did what they wanted and repaid me accordingly.

| I think, no believe that any and all alterations should be done a little at a time. I feel that any alteration has an effect - That's why and what we hope for. A little at a time will let one see if good/ bad or indifferent and needs adding to, or subtraction. Even going back to the original. Because I believe that pgeons adapt to what they like. indeed a carry on from the main C. J.M.O. |
