| Hi, my pigeon love to fly on loft for hour or more on their will. We have week after week race upto 650KM and 2 wks rest in 750-800KM race. I have single team, so they participate from race1 to last . for first 3 races (upto 400KM) I give one day rest on return and then loft fly. they usually fly between 40-60min . after 400KM , I give 2 days rest on return and then loft fly/short tosses. I feel they start loosing will to fly on loft at that time, but they fly great on loft around 40min. I fly and keep hens and cock separately. this is time is between mid feb and early march .pleasant weather , hens and cocks are at peak fun time So I treat them some times with opposite sexes. before final race we have 2 weeks rest. when on second last race they return they get 2 days off and then start flying on loft. now in this time they refuse to fly more than 20 min temp outside is about 25c when I open them. I tried giving them opposite sex in box, feed more ,feed less, great supplements and they look great and shining . Is this something happen to pigeons mostly that they reduce loft fly with season progress ? Or what could be factors to observe more ? |

Is this something happen to pigeons mostly that they reduce loft fly with season progress ? Or what could be factors to observe more ? I'm struggling a bit here etc I'm Tanveer 1/2 days rest on return, is that them being confined to the loft etc or flying freely maybe as they so choose when & if there till you go into forced fly mode with them. Would suggest as your season heads towards the finish there the general environment maybe changes inside your loft because of your weather factor & also having less birds in there at times. Many misconceptions I've found in my time about how long birds must fly to be fit to fly distance type races, a bit like tossing pigeons in certain ways End of the day thou if your birds are being successful there towards the end of your season & your happy on average over all change little I suggest with how & what your doing. Now local Vet of world repute here (sheep farmer type) has the best of everything on hand there to help keep his birds fit & well to race against many thousands of pigeons every week what does he use thou to clean all his drinkers out every week there as such to fight the general decease factor. Simple common bleach apparently would you believe . ***** |
