| As said David, the scientists say they know of no pigeon ever having the problem and believe they cannot get it never mind pass it on.
Think DEFRA just play safe, just in case.

| i think the rpra is letting the fancier down then if this is the case misty, why are they not opening their mouths and saying something ......? what are we paying them and their legal team for ...?
why are we taking notice of avian flu if it doesnt, and never has effected racing pigeons ........ |

| Remember that Avian Flu, was an U.S.A. creation. When fined by the Hysinka Courts they improved the rulles. They then did an up dated one Swine Flue. Hiv, etc, etc. and many more! |

| these "governing bodies" seem to be making it up as they go along, picking and choosing what they deem a risk and what is not .....i wonder if money is involved somewhere along the line ? |

| Animal and Plant Health Agency 21 h · This season's avian influenza outbreak is the biggest the UK has ever seen with over 60 cases to date. Don't join the statistics! It's vital that you aren't complacent about biosecurity. Anything that enters your birds' housing could be a source of infection! This could be your footwear, equipment, bedding, pets that walk into your birds' housing, rodents or floodwater that leaks in. Read our latest press notice with a message of warning for all bird keepers from the UK's Chief Veterinary Officer: https://www.gov.uk/.../chief-vet-warns-poultry-keepers-to... |

| Appears David that it may become more of a problem to shows etc; although no one knows if pigeons have any effect on it's spreading etc;
Just another problem amongst many.
Regards.

More information is available on GOV.UK: https://www.gov.uk/bird-flu Latest around here David, found in livestock just outside Whitby, all involved been culled. Too close for comfort, we have two venues with numerous water birds, swans and geese in particular but at least a couple of dozen other speciess some rare ones, just hope it does not get here. Do not think it will affect our sport, many restrictions have been lifted in other areas. Regards. |

acounts Tis an inigma David, shopped around and different opinions and possibilities arrise. Cannot find one actual case of a pigeon being affectd but as woodies can get it and all other birds it would be no supprise if our feathered friends could get it. Another fact that is puzzling, it had been around since the 1800s. Read one opinion that it could possibly mutate and affect humans, if that is so, it is taking it's time. Do not think we should worry, more important matter regarding Garden Parties etc; Regards. |

Looked at map, still some new cases but appears confined to certain areas. Just hope it goes on it's way before racing. Regards. |
