pigeon returned to trap place Empty
PostSubject: pigeon returned to trap place   pigeon returned to trap place EmptyMon May 09, 2022 4:36 pm

Hi,
one of my pigeon de-tracked and trapped 100Km in opposite direction. he kept him in avairy for 2-3 days and opened him. he flew toward home direction , but some hawk attacked him and he returned back trap location instead of coming back to home. it was male, he told that this pigeon was not happy in aviary and always hit net to go outside.

another friend pigeon's trapped in another race on other location Smile , that guy had tipplers.he kept her for few days and one day ,she escaped and flew away. he told that after 5-6 hour she returned back to aviary.

in both cases they never paired up there. there are more examples of same behavior where pigeon got chance but they were not able to return instead they go back to trap location.

Is this common behavior and do you think it is worth keeping such pigeons ? personally I think I should get rid of such pigeon as he get chance but had no motivation to return home Shocked

i always gave a second chance ,you can hardly blame the bird if he was attacked by a falcon on release ,i think that would be a little un-fair
