UPDATE 25/08/2022 MID MORNING
August 25th, 2022
Good morning good job we did not go for the race today its not stopped raining as yet and closed in here.
We will be marking late afternoon today , a marked list will be online not long after 8pm tonight.
There will be around 25 not going that were late on the last trainer or took a night out , four were waiting by the trap last night after the rain so these four are not going either, i handled all the other late ones this morning and sectioned off any that i thought needed more time to recoup and be ready for the next race Hot Spot 3.
Tomorrow i will be at the lofts again while Duncan and James take the birds to Wincanton.
I will update again tonight with a list of the birds not going etc.
Jeremy.

We Very Happy Very Happy all must show a certain type restraint here Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes with our general thought process etc I suggest Misty. Where would we be now Wink Wink if we all really said what we thought bounce bounce about your RPRA O/L race debacle, as a general example. cheers

Agree that there is every likelyhood of those actually suffering the treatment and conditions that are preverlant in most OL races and comming through to the end
may be worth a chance in new ownership, not forgetting that fanciers will only be sending from their best.

But the whole set up in the RPRA OL does not auger well for the best to survive,
just a lottery.

yes some decent birds at a fair price can be bought from the one loft auctions, lets face it if they have survived the training and racing and made it to the final, they have done well ........

Have faith O/S Smile Smile surely Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes one or two will be left there to auction off as such Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad hopefully. Now Very Happy Very Happy make of it what you will. 2nd hot spot race down here today, 850 odd bird's away there bounce bounce apparently, from the 1700 odd that first started in my local O/L/Race. 300 odd miles (compared to 65  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes) they will have here if they wish to get home somehow by nightfall for a feed etc Wink Wink. cheers

Hero types Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes if they are normally there at the finish etc David Smile Smile under normal type circumstances. This year thou bounce bounce I wouldn't take them as a gift etc from your RPRA race as such. Pigeons there are on a road to nowhere for the most part from my perspective here & the reason being, there are 600 odd pigeons here sitting on their perch tonight in my local O/L/R here today from 300 odd miles for the 2nd hot spot race here & they are battling to get them there from around 65 odd miles sadly for their 2nd hot spot race. End of the day  Smile  Smile easy to turn a blind eye etc maybe with the standards being set on the day , like with your RPRA race  Wink  Wink but I can suggest the birds & owners there deserve a far better outcome somehow. cheers

the rpra should be ashamed at its flagship one loft ,what an example eh...remember when we dared to criticise and our birds suddenly stopped performing Suspect the races this year are nothing but tosses and the losses are massive lets be fair this is the cream of every loft around the country confused

Water of a ducks back somehow I suggest etc unfortunately O/S Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes  Crazy part for me here thou  bounce bounce I'm  affraid  with my thinking process  Wink  Wink is that they are now basically in general terms the same birds with your race there as the local one here on average since the imports arrived here locally, back when. cheers

the best year they had was when they sent them to the hotspots on a transporter with a racing organisation ,of course its easier to send them from the loft and not basket at a club and i get that but how much did the one loft transporter cost the rpra funds eh ,and has it been cost effective ....i just cant understand the whole set up really confused

Under the right management structure & care etc George Smile Smile I could maybe quite easily mount a feasible case bounce bounce that 1500 birds is a manageable type number for a O/L race. Problem with the one here in question thou that we have had dealings with in the past bounce bounce is they keep shooting themselves in the foot type thing regularly from my perspective, with their general care somehow & the training of the birds there. cheers

3 miles Smile Smile the day I knew here they were on the road to no where etc George Wink Wink was Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes when they loaded their unit up there with birds bounce bounce & then let them all go in the paddock next door Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Don't remember them mentioning the losses at the time Wink Wink but I suspect somehow there would have been few there that didn't quite make home on the day  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes unfortunately Very Happy Very Happy. cheers
