this hen was a gift to pair to the cock i bought from rpra olr  ended up with 2 hens she has 2x2nds 2x3rds and a 4th racing as a yb  taking no notice of the shadow

the reason for that i think is he thought one was a cock turned out a hen so had 2 hens both raced as ybs

you mention the shadow george, at a guess i`d say the light was pointing upwards, if it is have you tried pointing your light downwards from above the bird ...

this time tried different light pointing down will try the mobile phone see if that makes a difference

George you might need lights from above and also both sides, cancel the shadows out ? Sure I saw birds at a show in a box set up like this being photographed.

was able to remove some of the shadow under the beak but went too far in and left a feather out of place

don't think i'm that far away from taking a good photo may be i need strip lighting down the sides not on top

think i will try it with a pear  rather than a pigeon see if  i can get it right

yes, looks spot on george .......

got rid of one shadow and another one  appears +lost the colour still working on it

i know the colour is not right and he is in the moult is there any thing wrong with the photo

this is all i have cage and 2 pieces of thin ply

i dont think theres a lot you can do about shadow george, as your using a wire cage you will get rid of one shadow then create another .........your certainly getting better photos now though .

yes David much easier now i'm older than trying to get a good photo in the loft also gives me a interest
