| Yes actually. Model railways , just started N gauge . We had 00 when my sons where younger but sold it . Long story but a seller ripped us off by keeping thousands of worth of stuff we had but we had enough to fund this n gauge. Another expensive hobby but who cares lol. Only one son does it now . |

| Yep, several.
Apart from my main loves, joint, pigeons and four legged friends.
Fishing, coarse, sea and fly, took my son all three, still keen and excellent angler.
Dancing, to keep wife happy.
Snooker.
Always had ferrets until comparatively recently, caught hundreds of rabbits.
Kept rabbits at times, several breeds.
Had bantams and other poultry breeds.
Canaries and other small birds.
Even bred different coloured mice at one time, be shocked at the colours you can get.
Will have missed some but hey that's not bad.
Regards. |

| Wish others would give some examples of other activities to make a change until the real pigeon action starts.
Thinking that brought to mind two events of different endings one funny the other the end of one activity I enjoyed over many years.
My late very good friend Peter Straw who my wife and I used to visit on regular basis take a couple of fresh caught trout, Peter would smoke them and we would have smoked trout sandwiches and a scone and coffee the next weekend.
He visited one day and we were talking about poultry, he knew I kept bantams and hens etc; and said I he ought to have a few himself and I had trio he could have to start off with and he said Ok.
The following week end I took them to him.
The following week Peter said, " That perishing cockerel chases me all over the place pecking.
I said " funny that Peter it used to do the same to me".
Sad to say Peter died recently, he visited us two days before he died. .
Had at least 20 different species of bantams over time.
At the time in question had 5 along with 12 hybrid hens for eggs.
Also four hens and one cock bird of a breed of bantam I had never come across before. nicest bantams ever had.
Bought them at Malton Market as chicks.
Everyone who saw them on the allotment wanted some, had no idea where they could get them.
Had also 5 hens and a cock of buff rocks with intention of breeding.
Went to the allotment one morning and the bantam cock and two hens were missing, their hut having been broken into, no others missing.
So sick I gave everything away, buff rocks went to Newcastle to a friend of a friend who bred from them and gave friends some, the bantams went to a local fancier who still has either them or their off springs.
Never felt like having any more.the hybrids I left for the chap who took pver the allotment
Those responsible had only to ask and I would have given them some eggs to hatch.
Theives have no idea the trouble they cause or they could not care less
Regards.

| Forgot one of the most rewarding activities in later life.
My wife and I ran a dance every Tuesday for those who were not welcome by some at the ordinary dances.
They were handicapped and of varying ages, this we did for over ten years.
We had to limit the numbers to 60 due to regulations.
We took them on days out in the summer and Christmas and Easter festivities.
Taught them simple dances and those in wheelchairs just enjoyed the music and activities.
As rewarding seeing them enjoy life as anything else.
Regards. |
