How’s the breeding going

4 more eggs hatched, think ive 30 ybs in the nest now ........hoping to get 6 on elimar asap.

ive not looked recently misty, when i had those 20 of mine on there didnt seem to be many young birds on there for sale, i looked a couple of weeks ago and there were quite a few so im hoping they have gone now so there isnt as much competition .......ive 2 to go to a fellow club member today or tomorrow, then 2 or maybe 4 into breeder buyer sales .....

one yb dead other dying from the mealy no food in the crop what i can't unterstand why the hen did not feed them if he stopped

has something scared them george ...?

no David different lofts different hens same result just tried something else i have taken him away see if hen feeds the one left but it is cold

Have you ever actually bred a decent young one from the mealy George ?.

If not would not keep him.

Long shot George knowing all your pigeons are well cared for.

Is there something in the nest that is irritating the parents ?.

no misty not this year or last year it's only him no problem with other pairs rearing ybs i thought last year he started driving the hen when ybs hatched it's something to do with him maybe his ybs can't digest corn but there is the hen

checked ybs this morning, found one of thems leg was stuck out, bird seems healthy but i had one like this last season ......i go very careful when im ringing so im hoping it isnt something ive done, although in both cases the ybs were single reared .....

sadly i will have to dispose of it at some point .

If you realy want young off him George run the next eggs under known good feeders.

Personally would not bother, but then it may prove a point and be interesting.

was going to do that misty just to see if him feeding is the problem
got one egg hatch to-day from hen with broken wing may have 2 to-morrow

Do not forget the youngster had just been transported to a new loft and no doubt photo taken straight away, certainly no air brushing.

Looks a grand well reared youngster to me.

What you going to spend the winnings on George ?.

hiding it from Morgan and the family will be the first thing might even clear off just to have the birds from the final and bring them home will do me

both ybs from mealy died no food and cold only one yb from hen with broken wing that's a slight problem  but should be ok when i see the colour there was 3 eggs in the nest

so you entered 2 birds didnt you george ...?
