They'll be fine David if you feed once a day because they don't fly out and will put the weight on now they aren't feeding. If you feed a couple of times a day you could add 25% good quality barley, one handful of this mix to 5 pigeons then feed them up on an evening bit at a time until they start leaving the barley or until they start going to the drinker. Handle them regular and judge the weight and condition will tell you if feeding is right. |

| Always fed same mix all year round. But think open loft all year round is very different from having prisoners. Successful fanciers vary from weighing food to hopper feeding beans. Common sense is all that is needed. Not to mention all the rubbish some fanciers put down their pigeon's throats. Pigeons will not over eat if they know there will always be food available. Regards. |

| yes very true misty they wont overeat ,even an ounce a day theres a few peas left over it builds up over a few days then i throw on the green for the wildlife ,they probably get a bit more than a ounce truth be known as i dont measure it as such and always would rather give extra than not enough |

Regards. Been to get my wild bird seed etc; Wheat for townies £10.50. Best wild bird seed whithout wheat £39.50 could not believe it,no way will I pay that, so settled for a cheaper brand. Fat balls cheap, got 50 a couple of weeks ago and they have not gone up, think best buy and the birds appear to love them. Problem this year with starlings rip everything to pieces in minutes. Never had them other years. If things keep going up maybe common sense says may have to have a re-think about feeding them. Regards. |
