Sods Law barnie grand looking pigeon and not a bad eye either.

If we only new only half of what actually our pigeons have to put up with we would change our attitudes me thinks.

sorry to see him in this state. what will you use to treat him or will it heal on its own ok? Glad he made it home, such a shame they have to go through this just to get home, just shows what clever birds they are.

P.S what do people mean about a good eye? Sorry for the newbie questions but only just starting up so please go steady with me

Believe me you will be better off not worrying about eye sign, all the pigeon needs is two that work in a body that wins races, if that is your intention.

But there are numerous different ideas and opinions on the subject.

None of which hold any water.

just left him to it, pigeons are the greatest healers of flesh and bone I've even seen, unbelievable resilience in a small ball of feathers. He's strutting about on the floor, protecting his nest in the corner knocking anything else out the way, character this one.

Second that about healers barnie.

Among others I had a hen whose back was nearly ripped out you
could see the the veins throbbing.

Covered it in germaline and the feathers grew back in no time still had her when
I had a clearance sale.

She was one of my stock hens, all my pigeons had open loft.

The pigeon I sewed up for Terry Jackson could not have survived it's crop was fully open and could not retain any feed.

I sewed it up and it was healed in no time.

In the wild animals survive things that look impossible.

In human hands they often need a hand.
