| George did you try wheatgerm oil? I gave it a month before pairing, 3 times a week then every day once the cocks were driving and had 100% full eggs although some got smashed through fighting after a week or so. 1 teaspoon to 1/2kg corn.
these are youngish birds, like misty says once they're done then usually that's them done filling, good luck though. |

| be careful george the wheatgerm does not keep well ,even if kept in the fridge and will sicken the pigeons ,always buy fresh each breeding season |

| Would have given my pigeons all that fanciers appear to give them when I saw the wild birds outside the chemists or vets.
Some fanciers say they give them nothing one minute then it transpires they give them everything but the kitchen sink.
Strange.
Regards.

If it was an old favourate George I would do all I could to make life as comfortable as possible and use any reasonable means to do so. What makes me laugh is when fanciers say that they use nothing and you find out graduly that they use everything but the kitchen sink. Just do your best George. Regards. |

| A very nice healthy looking pigeon George.
Did he fill his eggs last year.
Would pair him to a wise old hen and have a late pair of eggs just to test the grass to see it the eggs are fertile.
Sometimes you get dummy eggs for different reasons

Looks like a two year old George, how old is he ?. If he has not filled his eggs for two years and no apparent reason then it appears nature has taken it's course. Will have a look back at my records and see the oldest stock bird I had that filled it's eggs. Long time ago, never had stock birds second time round. Regards. |

Had scout around George. Average age of a racing pigeon is 10 years. Some can be fertile for that length of time and die fertile. So your old boy an't doing too badly. Served you well and deserves a perch irrespective. My oldest breeder was a Killingbeck Cock, not certain when he stopped filling eggs but lived to 18 and won many eye signs shows. Kept him paired up as long as possible to keep him happy, not worried about his young. Another possibility George, put some fertile eggs under him., and use him as a feeder. Regards. |
