just een on the rpra site, havnt been looking for a while and seen this ..... i didnt realise the 1st hotspot was here already .
Update 04/08/24 August 4th, 2024 Good evening,
After studying the weather forecast for the scheduled first hotspot for the past week, I have made the decision to postpone it from tomorrow Monday 5th August until Wednesday the 7th.
Monday’s forecast has changed so many times in the last week, I am unsure what to believe. With that in mind, Tuesday has been a constant forecast for rain, and Wednesday has been a constant forecast for 0% chance of rain. Although the aim for me is to get all the birds to drop together on loft, this is the pigeons’ first race so I want a two day nice weather window, just in case, and Thursday looks reasonable too. Naturally this may result in a postponed Hotspot 2 as we were scheduled for Monday, which doesn’t give much recovery for any pigeon that has made a mistake.
The weather looks like it is going to be nice at home and near home tomorrow, but the further north the duller it gets. So I think that the pigeons will go training at 30 miles; not sure on time yet. After arriving home tomorrow, the pigeons will not be allowed out until the Hotspot 1 race, so I will mark the pigeons either tomorrow night and/or Tuesday morning. After marking, the pigeons will go back in the loft until loading up on Wednesday.
