| ENTRIES OPEN FOR 2024 RPRA ONE LOFT RACE 7 December 2023 We are now taking entries for the 2024 RPRA One Loft Young Birds Race. With a 1st prize of £35000 to the winner of the final race, £10000 in prize money across the 4 hotspot races, and £8000 going to the winner of the ace pigeon competition, there has never been a better time to enter into the UK’s most successful one loft race. The entry fee is £125 per pigeon (£50 deposit plus £75 final payment) and this will enter the pigeon into all competitions. The prize pot is based on a full entry of 1500 pigeons. You may enter up to a maximum of 5 birds initially, on a ‘first come – first served’ basis until 31st January 2024, after which date any remaining available spaces will then be allocated or offered from those on the reserve list, on the basis of the date of receipt of the initial application. The maximum capacity of the loft for the 2024 season will be 1,500 pigeons. You can download the entry form here, and this can be returned either through the post with a cheque/postal order for the deposit amount, or via email to rpraoneloft@rpra.org with payment of the fees via the RPRA web shop. An online form will also follow shortly. When entering via email or through the online form, once you receive email acknowledgement of your application, please go to the RPRA web shop and pay the initial deposit (£50.00 per bird). N.B. At the payment stage, to complete payment press the white tick in the black circle next to the blue ‘Make payment’ wording. You may also wish to make the final payment (£75.00 per bird) at the same time, but this is not due until 1st February. The reserve list will be activated on 14th February, should full payment not be received by the due date. Whichever way you apply, the One Loft team will endeavour to send out confirmation of whether your application is successful or not within five working days, either via email or post, depending on the volume of applications. Please only contact us after five working days to check if you are successful, to allow us time to concentrate on processing the applications. |

| The choice of the loft manager will probably be based on the ability to facilitate the loft.
As for the loft manager, feel sorry for him/her.
On a hiding to nothing.
Apparently with the best will in the world (and human nature says not all have it) no one can get a reasonable number into the final equal chance of winning in a lottery.
But at least something to discuss along the way and moan about.
Regards.

| Cannot see how they can say what the prize money will be without knowing the numbers involved.
They must have obtained a loft site and manager.
Think that would be essential for fanciers to consider wether to enter or not.
But then we are talking RPRA who are well on the way to completely obliterating the sport as we once knew it.

| yes i agree misty, surely knowing who the new manager is and also where the rpra loft will be would play a part in fanciers entering ......... what fool is going to part with hundreds of pounds to a one loft not knowing who`s running it or where the loft is ... |

Regards. I can see here Misty you never went to magic school type thing apparently, where one learns the art of simply pulling tricks out of a hat etc in the cause of the confusion scenario. To be fair it will not be many fanciers with the land to facilitate the loft and also be capable of running a OL event. If it is on rented land the owner could at any time throw a wobbler. Would have thought the RPRA could have purchased a piece of land with the proceeds from the Redding's sale etc;. Finding a capable loft manager ??????. Just wonder how much the loft manager is paid, must be on the balance sheet but never seen it. Will be very interesting to see the RPRA balance sheet this year and find out exactly how many flying members are involved. Not as easy as it first appears but in my opinion the RPRA is a lost cause regarding our sport, lost their way years ago and never found the road back, held back by the selfish Clique who ruled the roost for far too long, lying, fabricating evidence in an endeavour to pervert the course of justice was second nature to some thinking they were untouchable saddest fact others let them, so just as bad as them. Should have taken notice of what I said in the early seventies, no one should serve on the Council for more than four years, some have been on for over 40 years, hence the present demise of our sport. Apathy by the rank and file has resulted in the present state the sport finds it's self in. They have now got what they allowed. Regards. |
