| we'll be going, never miss the trip, and I know it's not what it was 30 years ago but it beats being at home hands down. Always come back with a few bags of stuff but stopped buying pigeons since I decided to finish with prisoner stock birds. |

| looks like it David, I guess it stops Blackpool council having to find all the money. strange that they built a brand new ££££££££ conference centre into the winter gardens instead of using that money to restore the old building? I always wonder where all the money goes in Blackpool, there's something on at the winter gardens every week, theatres, the blackpool lights, tower, zoo, funfair pleasure beach, ice shows, football ground, multiple attractions all year round. Apparrently 20 million visitors every year!! hundreds of millions £ revenue every year, yet the council can't get their act together and the place is in real decline, shops boarded up, derelict buildings, place is a mess. So where does all the money go, who's running the show ? |

| by what i read the rpra couldnt afford to maintain the readings hence why they sold it, yet they can pay to maintain the winter gardens ....... they also put up member subscriptions yet they find money to support other things , i think they are taking the p*ss

| i think your right about that ray, im a one man band, not in a partnership ...... i do not speak about pigeons or be involved with any pigeon men apart from the members on this site, even though i am a member of a club the interaction i have with other pigeon men is virtually nil .
it does help if you are actively involved with other pigeon men ., |

| i went on my own by train same as you george 3 changes at birmingham, crewe, preston and 6 hours on the train but i quite enjoyed it tbh and it dont bother me being on my own but i did meet a few members and got chatting to some others ,also had a night on the town and met some locals ,it seemed a rough area then in 2014 it had all the hallmarks of "watch yer back" bandit country i would go again for sure and thought it quite cheap to get in to ,well worth it and got some good deals on the sunday ,i went from friday to the monday morning and then got the train back down |

| About 130 miles by car, but not all Motorway so still takes over 2 and half hours, sometimes more. arrive friday around 5pm and usually go for a pigeon show ticket then an Indians or something to eat. Loads to do on the saturday, always have a really good night out too, Leave after breakfast on Sunday morning, usually takes 3 days to get over the weekend. |
