| was reading an article in homing world and just wondered how many ybs members are down from what they bred, at one point i had 28 ybs.......1 got killed by a cat, i lost 3 in the two open races i had and lost 6 training.
this means i have 18 out of 28 left, anyone else want to let us know.....? |

| no, didnt mean to ken.............youre right in what your saying and i think by strict selection it can only do the overall team good as your weading out the "homers" from the racers. |

| I bred 88 youngsters, I lost 15 around the loft to raptors , then after training I had 22 left to race....After 7 races I now have 11. Not a bad season really my early morning training in all weathers paid off this year and saved lots more than usuuall, training down here really takes its toll, I had 4 races with 100% returns. |

| Crikey ,15 out of 88 to BOPs, that must be heartbreaking - are these birds that are killed/injured beyond recovery or a combination of this and flyaways? Either way losing nearly 20% is shocking! I'm glad Shropshire is a lot less prone to, I assume peregrines, although we do have quite a few sparrowhawks. |

| every one down here is in the same boat, we all breed lots because of the problem, I have a quarry 3 miles from me and has 4 pairs, we have a massive coastline and its a breeding station for them. I CANNOT GO TRAINING WITHOUT BEING SMASHED BY PERIGRINES..EVERY TOSS. |
