ive even got a red this year john.......... my first one for years

yes i got a 11 year old hen back from bob my uncles partner for 50 plus years and sge was the only red i started with sadley she died but not before geting 5 reds and a chequer off her and they have kept the red jeen goinmg and this year i have 6 so will show a couple of them if i get them throu the moult ok

we never had reds when we arced before john, and since ive had pigeons again for the past couple of years still havnt had any untill this season...........shes nearly moulted out now and to be honest shes looking pretty nice, might breed some off her next year and start a red line to my family......

yes its nice to see some reds in the loft david it brightens the place up if anything i had a cracker this year put her to her first national came in to fed tickets with her put her to another national two weeks later and lost her i could have kicked me self just pushed her a bit to far david as a yearling wont do that twice

i hate loosing any john anyway, but if i lost a winner i wouldnt sleep at night............as you know i didnt get many races in this season but with the couple of races they did have a nd the decent training they got im happy to just push them a bit further next season......altho im not going too mad with them, i wont just send them for the sake of it.

your doing the right thing there david i just pushed her to far for a yearling but she came so well the first national i gave her a couple o weeks rest and pushed her on but there was alot of losses that day but we live and lefn david i have been left with a good team again 36 out of mt 54 so prity good david as mosts been 160 miles say some 240 and 1 330 so cant complain

yes your right john, if she came well in the national your bound to send her again arnt you.........and as you say, a lot got lost so its just one of those thing i suppose we have to accept, only loosing 8 birds is a good result and as they have been 160 - 330 miles they are well schooled for neat season.

my full old bird team next year will consist of 9 yearling cocks so if i dont take liberties with them ill have a few left to go as 2 year olds the year after therfor building up a team each season.......

Like Reds and Mealy's myself the very first 1st i won was with a red cock in 1980

yes thats what its all about david well i have 3 three year old 4 2 year olds 5 yearling in the loft now all been 480 miles so might get 1 or 2 across the water next year if all is well

used to have some madenas ray, they were a redy/browmy colour.........couldnt fly very well but looked nice.

i will add a fancy show to the list then, do we need a young cock/hen and an old cock/hen class or just one big show for all of them..............?

i will let you all know how i got on but its not been my best breeding season but you never know.

if they are in good condition they should do well shouldnt they geordiegen ? have they had a good moult ?
