| There should be different levels of competition from novices to top fliers |

| Always remember an old fancier who obtained a cheq cock as a yearling this pigeon would not take to widowhood
This cock on natural went on to win 19 first prizes in my club from the age of 2 to 6 and the brother had 24 firsts on widowhood |

| thats right don, just because a pigeon might win loads of races it doesnt mean the nestmate will be a good racer too does it ? might win, but i dont think its a forgone conclusion..... |

| One of the clubs i flew in tried to bring in two divisions but it caused a lot of resentment, everyone wanted to be in the first division including novises , even though the bottom 2 from first got relegated to the second and top two from second got promoted, but they would have none of it so it stayed as it was Ken |

Ken i think it was a good idea, it would give the novices and the members who dont win very often more of a chance to get into the results......one thing i dont understand is why novices would expect or even want to be in the top group ? |

| When u win ur first race u want it to against the best to win a race in the second division they felt it was a untrue first as the could have still finnished half way down the club result sheet Ken |

| yes, i understand what you mean......but sometimes novices or unsuccessful flyers can get disheartened after a while of never winning anything, so it gives some incentive i suppose ??? |

| ok, i know we all want to win against the top flyers but with the two tier system in place even though a novice could get a first and it be considered an untrue first....it could be said that of fanciers who get say 1st section a ? or b ? that as they have not won the full open race and only their section that its an untrue first....??? |

| I Know what ur saying David but open races are different not only are you flying in the open but ur section as well in the last open i raced the sections were west, centrol, east and north, now in any of these sections you could be racing upto and over a 1000 pigeons now to win a seation gainst that birdage is great, in a club section you might be racing against say 30-50 pigeons

to win section is better than winning your club ,but if you win section then you also have won in the club |

| was reading some results in the racing pigeon weekly and in one national race one of the section winners wasnt even in the top 40 of the overall race winners......so does that say he is a big fish in a small pond in his section ? maybe he wins his section because he is flying against poor opposition and then when he is up against better flyers hes nowhere ???? |

| Hi David check how many birds were in the section then how many in the open, the wind will play a big part in the open, in a west wind the east section will fair best in a east wind west will fair best and so on so 1st section 40th open i would be more than pleased with, Ken |

| hi ken, yes me too.... but what im thinking is that if these flyers look at it in this way, why cant club members accept the two tier system put forward to allow novices and new starters a chance to race on more even terms.....i dont seen anything wrong with winning 1st "b" section 10th club if im a novice and wanting some encouragement to keep trying. i think there is far to much pigeon politics and back stabbing goes on in pigeon keeping/racing and also there is a lot of jealousy if someone out of the "click" wins..... |
