| yes your right Kev, ever since i came down here and joined the NFC in 2008 when i only a team of yearlings my whole attitude towards racing changed. first race i sent to was a 2 day holdover and i was working 200miles away when they were liberated so i had to get Clare to time in. I was on the website watching the race unfold before my eyes as they were being verified and come onto the provisional result be it east west or south. Kept ringing Clare saying they were doing 1300's in the east which meant we would be doing approx 1250 because of the wind, rang her again she had clocked yippee......quick work out and we were doing 1294 well happy, rang her back about 10 minutes later to tell her how to verify and she had clocked another 3, then watched our name come onto the result was amazing....we ended that day 2nd, and i think 11th, 12th & 14th section i couldnt believe it beat by 4ypm for winning the section that was it, i was hooked........you cant explain the feeling on NFC days |

must have beena great day hope she clocks one of the 1 loft team in this year Oh it was, it was unreal seeing our name amongst all the elite and beating most of the quality flyers in our own section was just unbelievable.....i know its hard to explain and to try and get your head around that when you have a strong West wind you wont get within the first 300 in the open because they will achieve 100ypm faster than the middle sections and 200ypm faster then the western sections. but you know what a feeling when you see your first one dropping. Same happened in the first NFC race last year, strong strong east wind and the Plymouth lads and western sections dominated, we had our good cock come racing hard out of the west to finish 5th section, beaten by 5minutes by a bird flying 20miles West of us, so you know deep down that our bird had past the section winners loft a good 10minutes before they clocked but the day beat him |

| i know mark i can remember the first time i sent in 2004 the first race i sent one a hen it had been coming well with the devon and cornwall continentel club from lamballe so i got her ready for the first NFC race i sent her the day of the race i was a wreck but i never saw here again . then i got a yearling cock ready for the saintes race it was a nice steady race with a slight head wind just after 10 hrs i was doing some weeding in front of the loft then i looked up and he was there looking at me on top of the loft he went straight in , i could not stop shaking i was gob smacked i phoned it through and when i saw my name in the result it was brill , 4th section D , 266 open . |
