| well lads i havent been on as much as normal with work etc ive had a bad run of luck with losing young birds [cant settle them for some reason ] but ive finally got a kit flying steady on 3 hours so i will start adding 15 minutes each day till their happy doing 5 hours then its down to feeding and conditioning for hopefully some long flys |

| good to see thing working out ok for you , its always a scary time when settling ybs.......i had 2 missing today for 5 and 7 hours but thankfully they came home and i got them in...........wouldnt mind getting some tips on how to make pigeons exercise as my widowhood cocks are ony doing 10 mins around the loft............ |

| david i lost my first round of young birds [9] on the second day out and was gutted thuoght i had lost these birds but they were raking about and are settled now so each day i hurry home from work to get them out its great when things go right but soul destroying when its all going pear shaped |

| had birds out today and added another to a kit so ive 5 flying now .they flew 3 huors again so i think its about time to push them a bit to see if there up to it .i will add a touch of depurative with the barley that should help them stay up .will keep you all updated on any progress |

| hi highflyer, good to hear they are flying well............do they fly because of their breeding or is it down to feeding...? do you think you could get racers to fly a long time by using the same management methods ? |

| david they fly because of there breeding mate the feeding just helps them to stay up longer there is an old bird fly on sunday [im not in it] the record stands at 21hrs plus so will let you know how the lads get on my mate in sunderland has a chance with his 3 hens as he has been flying them to 1oclock in morning so they should be used to the dark now! |

| sounds very interesting about the old bird fly.............never knew about this, does the judge have to stay at the loft to verify they have flown this length of time....? |

| yes the judge has to be a member of ntu they normally take turns to watch birds dedicated tippler men to watch birds for this length of time eh? |

| not half, never thought this much went into it..........they certainly are dedicated, my neck and back hurts after standing watching mine out for half an hour,
