thanks for shareing the pictures of your ybs rene maybe a few more of us could do this its nice to see other peoples lofts and birds and you got a cracking team of ybs good luck with them mate

look to be some nice y/bs but why let them sit about the roof not for me they in the air or in the loft i had 2 used to land on the big building over at the side of me when they first started flyin 3rd time and in the blk bag they went no time for roof sitters jmo

my birds allways seem to know when its time to land.

some nice ybs there rene and john, hope they do well for you both................im lucky that my loft is quite far from the house so its rare i get them sitting on the roofs, altho when the ybs are just getting used to the surrounds i do occasionally get a few land on the rooftops but this cant be helped at this stage.........

what are the chocolate coloured ybs rene....?

i stopped scaring them up a couple of years ago david a pigeon should not be scared to land beside its home they get out there left until there flying round the house. the birds are soon flying a hour a day they will be flying a hour and a half with out landing just like last year before they go in training basket . but for now a hours enough there all diverant ages there.

me neither john, i let them fly when they are ready because if you scare them up it destroys their trust in home.....this is what ive found anyway as each year i have ybs they never faulty when landing and in and out of the loft, one year i did scare them up and then they wouldnt trap/land the same because they were put off... when some fanciers are wondering why their birds wont land or trap properly, they need to ask their selves why.........maybe they scared them up.

i visited one of the members in my local club yeasterday john to see if he had one spare ring i could have,(egg hatched by accident in stock shed), anyway he took me to his lofts to see his birds and the first thing which struck me was how calm and relaxed they were.........his loft doors were all open and the birds were in and out as they pleased but the most suprising theng was that he had a massive rotwieler and 3 jack russels in and out of the lofts sniffing around, they dfidnt show ant interest in the pigeons and the pigeons never even flinched over the dogs in the loft........it was unbeleivable.

yes david young birds can get used to anything as long as its there for them to see as youngsters we thought the young bird loft would be to close to the back door of house and washing etc people walking in and out all day .
david you can open the door and walk past them all on the ground and they dont fly off nothing thats what i like david and i think thats why were doing well with our young birds . calm content. happy
