widowhood .i dont understand????

hi lofthouse , first off you pair them up as normal then when they have reared there yb they go down on eggs again then after say 7 days take the hen and eggs away then keep the cock bird in his nest box and you have to keep the hens away from the cocks in a seperate compartment , the cocks stays in his nest box all the time staying celibut all week some times you show him his hen on a fri night before basketing but don,t let the tred he can do that when he comes back from the race its his reward .

exercise them 1 hr 2x aday but you have to give them the right corn and the right amount
make sure the cocks bond with there box if they don,t stay in there when you enter the loft there no good
have a little play fight with them and hand feed them tit bits like peanuts keeps the tame .

some fanciers take the hens away with the ybs at 14 days old and let the hens rear them, the cocks are then on widowhood.......

if weaned at approx 14 days all the hens will feed any/all the ybs......
