| i know when i was racing i used to start training earlier then most so as to make sure they had enough training befor the first race if the weather turned bad and i would train right up to the first race but would slow training down when they were racing. |

| im thinking that normally my birds exercise in the morning 2 hrs +, but when training they wont get the same amount of flying time/exercise as they would flying round the loft........ we are not teacing them the way home are we, as far as i know its mainly to teach them where to break for home....is it ? |

| i all ways thought it was to help teach them the way back to the loft.as for breaking away they need to be in with other birds going to other lofts. |

| i think the days when folk trained together have gone fred but i think it was far better for them as the birds had to break away each training toss not just a saturday just my opinun |

yes fred i think your right, they would have to be in a group to break away from them.........i didnt make my self clear i dont think as what im trying for is to get the line of flight from the race points and pick a point to train from, then they might hopefully know their way home from this point. |

David as soon as your birds are training and coming well the best thing to do is fly them first for an hour then get your birds in very little amount of seed (Trapping mix) leave 10 mins then basket them for a 10 mile toss then see how they come mate they will trap as sharp as ever and don't let them hang about the loft in the loft feed and watered Then use that routine the birds will know to trap than fly for another 1 to2 hours you don't need that on race day mate |
