charcoal is a tried and tested treatment it is used for people who over dose on drugs or chemicals it flushes out there system straight away and makes them sick it will cost less then a fiver . ive read about it on other sites and it works , so either take my advice or see your birds go sick i know what i would do . cheers kev

i think there are a few different opinions on treating YBs chris, before i had the nifuramycin i didnt feed for 24 hours, and added a product called "magic" to the water which is a probiotic for the digestive system.......as darren says sometimes they get secondary problems which i think is like paratyphoid etc where they cant stand or fly and the body shuts down and they die........this is just my opinion becaue before i knew how to treat efectively this happened to me a few years ago......

if i dont know then i say i dont but when i know people who have had it more than once then i know its a fact, as you know ray you cant get the same flu virus twice but we get the flu lots of times , why is this , because its a different strain ,

i think a lot of fanciers just assume that if their ybs ars being sick, have watery droppings and hunched up it is "young bird sickness" what exactly is young beird sickness ? as far as im aware its a bacterial infection in the digestive system but as other members point out, secondry illness`s occur which are a problem
