hi birdy, the stray centre is run by the up north combine, part of the north east homing union,it is based at sappers corner close to hartlepool, central point to most nehu members.the wagons are also kept here.the strays are looked after by peter howe, a pigeon fancier himself.they are kept in first class accomadation in pens for each federation. you can either pick your own birds up,or they are sent out on the wagon on a friday to the clubs where they belong to.i dont know if they still do it,but they use to take gb rung birds down to the closest area we where racing from and pass them on to a wagon where they where from regards dick |
