Old birds moult...

my oldbirds are dropping to bits now, the stock birds are even worse.........they seem to be moulting heavily since i opened the front of the loft up so its just dowelling rather than it being covered by polly corbon sheets, would this make a difference as they have never seemed to moult this heavily before......

I would say yes David because you are going back to nature and the colder nights are coming plus having the loft open allows more movement of fresh cooler air

birds are certainly looking healthier don, if i could i would have all my lofts open dowelling....but with quite a few cats around i cant do it, also widowhood cocks shouldnt be able to see out should they.

this is a sign of good healthy pigeons david most important for them to have a thorough moult mine are the same david
