| i have heard news of a fanciers birds being poisoned by concentrated garlic given to him by a freind who works in the food industry ....he put 3 tea spoons on his corn and hopper fed his stock and in 48 hours 101 birds have died .....costing him thousands in lost stock and many years of dedicated breeding and some multiple prize winners....so the moral of the story for me is never take a chance on what you give your birds.this must be heartbreaking for the guys involved and i feel so sorry for them |

| Concentrated garlic, doesnt really work, especially if it has been cooked in any way, as it takes the most active property out of it. Allicin. There must have been something else present. |

| It's a great tragedy for the fancier, that's why i do all my own preparations. Garlic I just usually put it under the blade of a knife and crush it, then add it to the drinker. |

| I've never heard of it before. but it can sometimes knock out some of the good gut flora. There had to be something else in the concentrate. I think they need to send it off and get it analysed. Have a read of this, http://pigeonbooks.com/index.php?r=14&c=73&l=en |

I kept 2 Cock birds for 20 years--What could I have done to keep them longer????-PLEASE tell me where I went WRONG?

| i dont think anyone can really say its definately stopped such things as cocci etc, but maybe users could assume that by not catching it one year it was down to the garlic.......i dont know so dont quote me on it.
it is supposed to be beneficial tho` and is a natural antibiotic.........also honey is good for pigeons as this has healing properties too. |
