Sod that, any of our birds see a hawk, they gone.
Old birds Cawdy, they are a different matter. We run them on roundabout to start with because we also race hens as well as cocks, we train them on opposite days, but no further than thirty miles, these only get refreshers.
We only mildly train them to get their fitness up. We also do a lot of single ups. It takes a bit of time, but it's worth it.

Gary will agree there mate , will say i liked to 2 the birds up so they race each other back to the loft

With all the Hawks we have----if you let the birds out "EVER" day-----you better Hatch 365 birds.
then you will have enough for 1 year
