| Cheers guys, I've been doing a bit more on it today, have just created an email address for the site and am just waiting on the HM Government Petitions Office to see if they will accept my petition and it's content. If this gets the go ahead then I'll post it and it's all systems go. But a 100,000 signatures will take some doing. |

| Cheers guys your words are encouraging. But I have had one or two emails, saying that I may be barking up the wrong tree and should be concentrating on the declining songbird issues. Frankly, as sad as a situation it is, these are not my birds and everyone else's. Attacks on songbirds cannot be accurately recorded and to be quite frank, I don't think it's doing the fancy any good. Why doesn't the RPRA not do something about promoting the sport, focusing on families who race pigeons. Create public awareness about pigeon racing, try to remove the stigma that pigeons have. Show them they are not rats with wings. Try pull the fancy back together and get everyone working towards a a common goal, setting differences aside. Focus on the Heritage Of The Working Man. There's lots of ways they could do it, but they would rather give big cheques to charities and watch the fancy decay. There's lots of things they could do, but just cannot be bothered.

| hi gary, i dont know who has emailed you saying to concentrate on the song birds, but in my opinion the main focus we must concentrate is the racing pigeon..........as far a s im aware pigeon fanciers have been let down by the song bird brigade, we have had meeting with them in the past and they have let us down.........my concern is racing pigeons as no one else seems to give a damn but us pigeon fanciers. maybe you have ruffled a few feathers already gary eh............. or made those who are supposed to represent us look what they are, weaklings/traitors. |

| I hope so mate I've done three years free labour writing articles about the decline of our songbirds, providing images and doing some thorough investigating. I'm sorry to say our findings were a little different to the mass conception. But I won't go into detail as maybe, I'm going to ruffle a few feathers so to speak. I was speaking to my mate on the phone and we were discussing the powers that be, he came up with a cracking point about the RPRA. For an organisation that is as big as they and considering how long they have been going and the amounts of revenue they have accrued over the years. Why have they not got a visitors centre, with a sort of pigeon museum there. It's a valid point and started me off wondering. |

| Judging by all the emails I have been receiving today, The Save Our Pigeons Site, is hitting all the right chords, not just locally either. I have had emails from Eire, Northern Ireland, Canada and the USA, who are all in a similar situation. |

| Well done mate, it's like I have been saying everyone needs to report these incidents even the near misses. Wow, you must be devastated. That's a fair old number, to some fanciers that's a race team. Was it a Peregrine? |

Was it a Peregrine? no sparrowhawk Isave a lot by being a few feet away due to my bad walking 2 metal knees ect but next door is fed up birds being knocked into their garden and killed unless I put up a flag when I know birds hit) P/S hawks knock birds down even if only 2/3 yds away they are staving due to overcrowding |

| It sounds like a grim situation mate. Thanks for the email mate and have entered them on the report page. The picture that is forming over the past few days, is that in the dense country areas, because the Peregrines, Goshawks and Buzzards are becoming more widespread and because of their territorial nature. They are forcing the smaller species such as the Sparrowhawk to take refuge in the towns and cities. This is the cause of the relentless attacks on pigeons from off or around the lofts. Also another picture is forming, where the Peregrines are actually becoming more established, believe it or not, very close to pigeon liberation sites and along the racing corridors. It's a very sad, but true fact. That our racing pigeons are helping them to thrive. |

| Cheers Don. Another thing that I have come across on my research, is that a gamekeeper some ten years ago, set up a pigeon loft in the Forest Of Bowland and housed full of unwanted pigeons and flew them every day, this stopped the Peregrines and Goshawks taking his reared game birds. I know it sounds grim, but as he said racing pigeons are 47% of their staple diet. |
