| Budgie Crathorne, national champion in Germany and 2 different locations in the UK. My grandad who according to my mum and my uncles won the UNC on more than a few occasions. Budgie prefers long distance. i admire anyone who can compete well in the UNC theres amazing fanciers up there, My uncle sent me a few YBs with NEHU rings on when i started, raised a few eyebrows i can tell you.

| i basketed the two top flyers birds in my club tonight, they felt nothing special but yet they did feel different to the other members.........maybe it was the feeding/management or maybe it was just the quality of the breeding that made the difference.
sometimes birds that look a picture and look like winners seldon are, sometimes the little insignificant bird who doesnt atract attention wins out of turn, its not all about looks........... |

| Budgie Crathorne, I have a lot of respect for the man, he always has the time for a chat and has a good sense of humour, we always have a good chat and a bit of banter with him at the Blackpool show, both Kev and I have bought birds from him in the past and have a VDB line founded on Budgies birds. A great fancier. Andy Gregson, He was a fancier that influenced my racing back in 2001 -2003, I only managed to beat the man twice, although in the midweek racing for every 1st he had I had a 2nd and so on. he's a great fancier, very knowledgeable and a great sportsman. Vic Harrison A man who dedicated his life to pigeon racing. He was a distance man through and through and a successful one at that, Vic gave me some little bits of advice that influenced my style of racing and that advice was don't discard your hens, because what will make a hen fly faster? A thousand rampant widowhood cocks chasing her He was right. |

| i like that 1 Gaz, yeah ive know budgie years went to his wedding up in Middleton, when i got this loft he came round he lived 20 mins away he said the floors crap its tongue and groove, we went and got some loft flooring, he spent 2 days putting my loft floor in and sorting 1 or 2 adjustment he said would be better, then he bred me some babies(for free) i used to go around his regular, we went to Belguim once or holland cant remember he drove all the way to buy a cock, i helped him when he had his 1st auction at blackpool, before he went to manchester he got me to come round made a cupper and sat and told me how i should race pigeons i wrote it all down, but ive bloody lost it.we swap xmas cards still. |

| Budgie is a good laugh, I'm sure he'd write it all down again for you Steve. He was once telling me he applied to be the loft manager at Sandringham, he got shortlisted, but failed to get the job. We had a good laugh this year, ribbing Kev about his Mrs leaving. We was on the stall next him last year. |
