Strong east winds over channel this weekend

Hi all i have a race from falaise this weekend and weather is sunny with very strong east winds aross the channel. What are your opinions on this, Would you send, is an east wind better than a north east wind as it wont be so cold. Im in 2 minds weather to send, i have prepared the birds for a hard race. i will be interested in hearing your comments. Mass

as you have some doubt about the ability of your birds keep them at home as all the preparation won't help you george

how far is it from you ?

the race is 201 miles. The 2 cocks that im intending to send have both won and got cards from the channel at low velocities. Im just scared of the strong east wind gusts that could reach 35mph. will the birds be able to fly through it. Mass

so where abouts are you then, around the midlands ? im on the essex coast no warning about high winds here

Im in aylesbury buckinghamshire. I have been looking at weather forcast all week and all the weather sites are saying 20mph winds with gusts up 35mph through the ehglish channel and along the coast.

i would send them, i think you will have a good race

I wouldn't worry too much, OK they are going to have to work a little, knowing pigeons they won't take the most direct route anyway, but once they hit the mainland they will be fine.
