Newbie from The Netherlands Empty
PostSubject: Newbie from The Netherlands   Newbie from The Netherlands EmptyFri May 25, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi all...ok so yet another newb...My name is Dave and I am a ex-pat living here in The Netherlands and am thinking about starting out. I am not really a club person so online info and books wil be my main source of info for the time being.

Just a basic question if anyone will be so kind (I'll trawl through the back posts over the coming months)

I have a 7ftx7ft shed (tiled roof, stone floor, elect etc)...now I believe I would like to race around the 100-250km mark...if racing birds what would be a good use of this space i.e racing, breeding etc.

I appreciate this is not a very large space but it is what I have and what I can use.

Many thanks in-advance.

Dave.

hi dave, welcome to the site.........

hard question to answer in my opinion, i know of fanciers who have their racers, breeders and ybs all in one loft......they all live as a collony togeather and exercise and train as one.

alternatively i suppose yo could section it in half to get two 3.5ft x 7ft sections.....

welcome m8 yes indeed a difficult one ,first thing is you have space for about 20 birds maximum and would start with ybs then divide into 2 sections and you could race roundabout with cocks and hens but then you would need a yb loft the following season maybe just a 6x4 loft or a flight attached to your current loft atb anyway
